The Vinci motorbike is street legal. At Vinci, we take pride in our commitment to the community and ensure that our riders respect fellow cyclists on bike paths and streets. The Vinci motorbike is meticulously designed to adhere to the legal standards of the state of California.

Safety

For safety, the VINCI motorbike is equipped with the brightest head and tail lights in the e-bike market, both of which are IP67 waterproof. The dynamic tail light blinks when you press the brakes, providing over 1000 lumens of brightness, while the headlight offers an impressive 2300 lumens. The VINCI also features hydraulic disc brakes, ensuring excellent stopping power. 

LCD Display

With the Color LCD display, you can easily monitor your speed, distance, battery life, and more. The space-grade aluminum frame is lightweight yet durable, making it perfect for city commuting or outdoor adventures.

Comfort

The VINCI motorbike is designed with rider comfort as a top priority. Extensive research has been conducted to determine the ideal seating and handlebar heights, accommodating riders ranging from 5 feet to 6 feet and beyond, ensuring a comfortable experience for all.

Suspension

Additionally, the bike features front fork suspensions and a shock absorber, guaranteeing a smooth and comfortable ride on any terrain. Combined with 20-inch alloy wheels and 4-inch fat tires, the VINCI provides stability and excellent traction. Explore further with an impressive 100-mile range, achievable with the optional extra 48V 13Ah battery in pedal-assist (PAS) mode. The standard VINCI model comes equipped with a 48V 15Ah lithium battery (integrated battery), offering a range of up to 50 miles in pedal-assist mode and around 25 miles in throttle-only mode on a single charge. By utilizing the optional extra battery, you can extend your travel distance to approximately 50 miles when operating solely in throttle mode.

This includes the brakes, the head and tail lights, batteries, and even the LCD color display. As such, the repair and replacement of these parts are as straightforward as any conventional bike.

Why Vinci Motorbikes Don't Have Regenerative Braking

At Vinci Bike, we believe in making decisions based on scientific data and practicality rather than following trends just because they sound cool. One such decision we’ve made is not to incorporate regenerative braking in our motorbikes, and here’s why.

Regenerative braking is a technology commonly found in electric vehicles, especially cars. It works by converting the energy generated during braking into electricity and storing it in the vehicle’s battery. This process can help extend the battery life and increase overall efficiency.

However, when it comes to electric bicycles and motorbikes, like the ones we produce at Vinci, regenerative braking is not as practical. Here’s why:

Electric bicycles and motorbikes are considerably lighter and have less momentum compared to cars. This means that they generate less energy during braking, making it challenging to recharge the battery significantly through regenerative braking alone.

The limited amount of energy that can be recaptured through regenerative braking in e-bikes often doesn’t justify the cost and complexity of adding such a system. The increase in range or battery life is typically marginal and may not make a significant difference in practical use.

While regenerative braking can improve efficiency by about 5-20%, the real-world impact varies. On average, a regular rider on typical roads might gain an additional 10% in distance on a single battery charge. However, it’s important to note that regenerative braking can’t fully compensate for energy losses due to air resistance and tire friction.

Vinci Motorbike Efficiency and Carbon Footprint Report - Details

Charging Cost: With a battery capacity of 0.72 kWh, the Vinci Motorbike’s full recharge cost at an electricity rate of $0.199 per kWh is approximately $0.143. So, for less than 15 cents, your Vinci is all set for the journey ahead!

Cost Per Mile: When the Vinci Motorbike operates in full throttle mode, covering 25 miles per charge, the cost per mile comes to around $0.0057. If you switch to pedal-assist mode, increasing the range to 50 miles, the cost effectiveness doubles, making it about $0.0028 per mile.

Comparisons and Savings: For context, as of 2021, a Tesla Model 3 uses about 0.25 kWh per mile. With the same electricity price, this would result in a cost of $0.05 per mile. A Toyota Prius, averaging 50 MPG at a gas price of $3 per gallon, would have a cost per mile of $0.06. A conventional gas vehicle, with average fuel economy of 25 MPG, would have a cost per mile of $0.12.

Hence, when riding the Vinci Motorbike, you could save roughly $0.0443 per mile compared to a Tesla Model 3. The savings increase to $0.0572 per mile when compared to a Toyota Prius, and $0.1143 per mile when compared to a typical gas-powered car.
